The TALA âUnder One Roofâ Training Centre is a visionary initiative by Toyota South Africa Motors to unify all employee education, technical training, and leadership development within one purpose-designed facility at the Prospecton Plant in Durban. The project brings together diverse learning environmentsâranging from classrooms and workshops to collaborative and informal learning spacesâinto a single, integrated hub that supports both theoretical instruction and hands-on training. Architecturally, the design reflects TSAMâs focus on innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The building combines clean, contemporary forms with flexible interior layouts, sustainable strategies, and generous natural light. Landscaped courtyards and transparent façade elements create a calm, inviting setting that encourages interaction, reflection, and productivity.
More than a training centre, the âUnder One Roofâ concept embodies unity, growth, and investment in human potential. The project strengthens TSAMâs commitment to developing a skilled, future-ready workforce and reinforces the companyâs long-term competitiveness through an environment designed for excellence. The KingâVictoria Transit Hub is a major multi-modal transportation project designed to become the primary mobility gateway for KitchenerâWaterloo. Developed for Metrolinx and the Region of Waterloo, the project unifies regional train, light rail, bus, and active-transportation networks within one intuitive, highly connected public space. The architectural vision centres on a light, sculptural canopy and an open plaza that guide movement naturally while creating a welcoming civic landmark. The design emphasizes accessibility, clear circulation, and strong integration with the surrounding urban fabric.
Sustainability, daylighting, and durable materials shape a hub that is efficient, resilient, and built for long-term community use. Beyond transit, the hub introduces opportunities for retail activation and public gathering spaces, supporting downtown revitalization and enhancing the cityâs regional connectivity.
