CONTEXT
This extensive mixed-use proposal for Buffalo City centers on creating a dynamic, interconnected urban hub that seamlessly integrates commercial office space, premium hospitality, and vital public amenity areas. The core design philosophy, driven by concepts like "Radial Design," "Organic Landscape," and "Interconnected Forms," aims to maximize social interaction and capitalize on peripheral ocean views while providing sophisticated, functional buildings. The project is strategically positioned across two distinct sites, utilizing process diagrams to develop forms that respond to site context, sight lines, and street-level engagement. The resulting architecture features multiple towersâsome with sleek white concrete and black aluminum frames to capture morning sunlight, and others tailored for specific functionsâall linked by social bridges and unified by a large, central public courtyard. This courtyard acts as the projectâs social heart, merging nature with a dynamic workspace and serving as a harmonious meeting point for workers, hotel guests, and the public.
The hospitality component focuses on creating a distinctive hotel tower with ocean views, utilizing simplistic materials, glass, and aluminum facades.A key achievement of the design is the thoughtful integration of nature and productivity; the landscaped, internal courtyards and interconnected pathways ensure that all componentsâoffices, hotel, and retailâfeel part of a cohesive ecosystem. By prioritizing maximizing views, providing robust linkages between blocks, and designing vibrant, distinct towers, this development establishes a new standard for functional elegance and social integration within the Buffalo City landscape.
